This year on Memorial Day.....We made a Memorial wall and put up pictures of all of our loved ones who haved passed away and also honored those family members, past and present, who have been in the military. Instead of having the traditional cookout, we made the favorite dishes of the ones whose pictures were on the Memorial Wall.
Mom fixed ham in rememberance of Dad...and Tabouli and ruby red watermelon for Tom. Both liked deviled eggs, so she brought them also. Sharayah brought mashed potatoes and gravy for Grandma Brady, John's Dad, Lyle, and my brother Jerry. Sheri brought apple pie for Dad and macaroni salad. I bought Ginger Ale for Grandma Hatch, cole slaw and 7-layer salad for Grandma Tinkham. Jim and I put togther some sliced peaches and vanilla sandwich cookies for Dad. Everything was delicious and brought up a lot of memories.
Crystal brought the plates, napkins, and silverware. I decorated the tables in the red, white and blue theme, and used Americana centerpieces....
Ieshia made place cards with everyones name on it like the one above. Everything looked so pretty!
Jim and John helped with the ham....we all had a very awesome and unique Memorial Day!
