Getting out of the house....

With all of this terrible heat and humidity that we have had, we've mainly been staying at home, keeping cool, and getting in the pool every afternoon.  However, on Thursday, I decided to take Derek and Emily to Galesburg for a little fun.  First, we had a nice little lunch at their favorite place, McDonald's.  Then we went to the Discovery Depot.
They had fun climbing the 'rock' wall...

They climbed on the fire truck ladder........

                        Playing in the Police Car

I took their pictures by the height chart....and I have to admit that Derek's picture looks more like a mug shot!  haha

They both liked playing in the Ambulance....

Derek liked the phone booth and the combine...

But Emily liked the Butterfly's, and the Tree House..

We all liked the bird named Zephyr....Even Grandma Lonas sang to the bird!

Emily liked the Post Office and the Dentist Office too........................

After we left the Discovery Depot...I took them to Lakeside water park...

The above picture is just of the big slide....I don't know those people...they were just in the way...hahaha    We didn't stay very long at the water park because it was miserably hot!!

Bathroom #3

Well, the last room in the house to do is the main floor bathroom.  It was started a few days ago and I'm already seeing progress!

After the bathroom is done, then we need to finish the flooring on the main floor!  I'm getting so excited to get the house finished!   The last few days, we have been under a severe heat advisory.  here is what the actual temp was today at 1:30 this afternoon.

Everything we had for supper was on the grill tonight.  First I got the grill nice and hot and wrapped potatoes in aluminum foil and put them on the grill.  Then i took chicken breast tenders and marinated them and put them on wooden skewers and put them on the grill.  next I took romaine lettuce and cut it lengthwise and drizzled garlic butter on it and put them face down on the grill!  I cut fresh roma tomatoes and cucumbers and drizzled light Italian dressing on them....and used them to top our grilled salad!  Everything was great!  and to top off the wonderful meal....Strawberry shortcake!  I stopped at a farmers market today and bought some gorgeous strawberrys!
Well, I will post more pics of the bathroom soon!

Letting Go......

The time has come for our puppies to go to their new homes.....The first to go was Zena...It is so hard for Emily to let them go.  She gave them her heart and was such a great helper with all the puppies.   She was in the pen with Tootie when they were born.  She got out of the pool to say goodbye to Zena...this picture just about breaks my heart......
On Saturday, we drove to Earlville to deliver 2 more of the pups.  Mya and Popeye are going to live together.........I made sure to take pictures before it was actually time to leave them

The last one to leave is Repo.  he is the first born and also the biggest!   He will leave later on this week when his family gets back from vacation.  Until then he will be spoiled and enjoy spending his time on the cool floor......

Time for Camp!

Time for Camp!  Ieshia left today with our youth group for Silver State Baptist Youth Camp!

She was so hyped to go especially since it is in Sedalia, Colorado!    They took off this morning at 7:00am in the chuch van and they also took a suburban with a u-haul trailer.

I can't wait to hear all her stories when she gets home.   She will be going to classes, church every night, riding horses, and I'm not sure what else.  Ieshia will be home Saturday, 7/23/2011!!!!!   I hope you have a blast Ieshia!
