Fall Fun....

On Tuesday,October 27 th, John and I went with Mom to take Aunt Clara to the Cracker Barrel for her birthday!    We had great food, a good visit, and also enjoy browsing the store.  But what I enjoyed the most was the beautiful fall scenery!  The trees were very vibrant with color!!

Friday, Oct. 30.....I went to Derek and Emilys' school to watch all the kids parade around in their costumes!
As you can see, Derek was an old west Sheriff and Emily was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.....All the kids were very cute.  John and I enjoyed watching the parade!  Sheri went with us also and had a good time and lots of laughs!   Later on, we carved the pumpkins.....John helped carve Dereks.....
I helped Emily carve hers.......
Ieshia carved her own this year...
And Debbie carved one for herself and Willie...
Here is Ieshia with her pumpkin...

Earlier this week, I tried out a new recipe called

Put one can of pie filling in pan
Sprinkle on two pkgs of instant oatmeal
Sprinkle on 1/2 teas. of cinnamon
Repeat again to add another layer then
cut one stick of butter into several pats and put on top.

It will look like this.....
Bake at 375 for about 30 minutes or until top is bubbly and browning.........remover from oven and it will look something like this....

My Turn

My generous sister has offered to let me contribute to her blog. I am sure I won't do as well as she does on it, but I am sure it will be fun to do.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tammy for all she did to make my birthday a wonderful and memorable day! It was the best birthday I've ever had!! Tammy went all out and fixed three kinds of soups/chili, with all the fixings, homemade hot chocolate w/marshmellows, a peachy nectar drink as well as several kinds of soda. John made a big bonfire and we had a wiener roast as well. Hotdogs with all the trimmings! In addition to all of this mom had a gorgeous birthday cake made for me! It was beautiful as well as delicious! On top of all that, there were some awesome gifts from everyone. I really appreciate the fact that I got to be 'home' with all my family for my birthday this year! A special treat for me was having my son Jason here for a week to visit with. I really enjoyed my time with him. And, last, but not least, the very best part of my birthday was becoming engaged to Brian, the love of my life! He is my everything!

Fall Tradition....

Every fall, John and I invite family and friends to go with us to Lake Story. It's nothing big, but we enjoy it. We usually let the kids play, have a picnic, and take a long trail walk. We also take our dogs with us. This year we took Mocha and Walter. Tootie didn't come this year. We thought 3 dogs was a little much and Tootie doesn't do real well on a leash. Here is a picture of my family....

Fall is in the air..........

A few weeks ago, we took Sheri and Brian with us to the pumpkin patch outside of Knoxville. Sheri had never been to a pumpkin patch and picked out her own pumpkin. She also got some squash!

My nephew, Jason, came to visit from Missouri for about a week. He came over and visited several times. We enjoyed spending time with him. One afternoon,Derek and Emily didn't have school due to broiler problems and Jason sat and played a few games with them.....

On Saturday, October 17th. We had a suprise weiner roast for Sheri on her birthday! Sheri, Brian, Jason, Debbie, Willie, Mom, John, Ieshia, Emily, Derek and I were there and also Sharayah and Andy! We had a nice warm fire, cake, ice cream, cherry cheese cake, hot dogs, Chili, smoked sausage soup and also cheesy potato ham and vegetable soup! I made a pineapple peach drink and homemade creamy hot chocolate! We had a great time!!
